नई दिल्ली युवराज सिंह ने 17 साल के अपने अंतरराष्ट्रीय करियर में कई कप्तानों की अगुआई में खेला। अब युवी ने बताया कि उनकी नजर में सर्वश्रेष्ठ कप्तान कौन है। 38 वर्षीय इस इस पूर्व ऑलराउंडर ने मंगलवार को कहा कि वह अकसर सौरभ गांगुली की कप्तानी में खेले गए अपने वक्त को याद करते हैं। महेंद्र सिंह धोनी की कप्तानी में हालांकि उन्होंने 2011 वर्ल्ड कप जितवाने में अहम भूमिका निभाई वह प्लेयर ऑफ द टूर्नमेंट भी रहे। बाएं हाथ के बल्लेबाज ने कहा कि इसके बावजूद वह गांगुली की कप्तानी में खेले गए अपने वक्त को याद करते हैं। एक अंग्रेजी दैनिक को दिए गए इंटरव्यू में युवराज ने कहा, 'मैंने सौरभ गांगुली की कप्तानी में खेला और उन्होंने मुझे बहुत सपॉर्ट किया। मुझे गांगुली की कप्तानी इसलिए याद है कि उन्होंने मुझे बहुत सपॉर्ट किया। मुझे माही (महेंद्र सिंह धोनी) और विराट कोहली से उस तरह का सपॉर्ट नहीं मिला।' युवराज ने भारत के लिए 304 वनडे इंटरनैशनल मैच खेले और उसमें 8701 रन बनाए। अपने वनडे करियर में उन्होंने 14 सेंचुरी बनाईं। युवराज से जब पूछा गया कि उनकी नजर में मुथैया मुरलीधरन का सामना करना सबसे मुश्किल रहा। उन्होंने कहा, 'मुझे मुथैया मुरलीधरन का सामना करने में बहुत मुश्किल आती थी। मुझे उनकी गेंदबाजी बिलकुल समझ नहीं आती थी। फिर सचिन (तेंडुलकर) ने मुझे कहा मुरलीधरन की गेंद पर स्वीप करने का आइडिया दिया और इससे मुझे काफी आसानी हुई।' उन्होंने कहा, 'ग्लेन मैक्ग्रा ने मुझे अपनी बाहर जाती गेंद पर काफी परेशान किया। अच्छी बात यह रही कि मुझे मैक्ग्रा का ज्यादा सामना नहीं करना पड़ा क्योंकि टेस्ट मैचों में ज्यादातर मौकों पर मुझे खेलने का मौका नहीं मिला।'

कोविड-19: कोच से विडियो कॉल पर टिप्स ले रहे हैं सुशील

नई दिल्ली दिग्गज रेसलर सुशील कुमार ने तीसरे ओलिंपिक्स मेडल की उम्मीद नहीं छोड़ी है। कोरोना के चलते भले ही वह घर में कैद हैं, लेकिन इसके बावजूद वह जितना संभव हो प्रैक्टिस कर लेते हैं। सुशील छत्रसाल स्टेडियम में रहते हैं जहां काफी संख्या में रेसलर्स प्रैक्टिस करते हैं। लेकिन, इन दिनों दो-चार पहलवान ही स्टेडियम में हैं। बाकी सभी अपने-अपने घर चले गए हैं। मैट प्रैक्टिस नहीं रेसलिंग में प्रैक्टिस के लिए पार्टनर की जरूरत होती है। लेकिन, कोरोना के चलते पहलवानों को प्रैक्टिस पार्टनर नहीं मिल रहे हैं। सुशील ने बताया, 'प्रैक्टिस नहीं कर पाने से काफी दिक्कतें हो रही हैं। रेसलिंग में असली तैयारी तो मैट पर होती है, लेकिन काफी दिनों से मैं मैट पर गया ही नहीं। मैट पर जाऊं तो पार्टनर चाहिए। लेकिन जिस तरह की यह बीमारी है उसमें पार्टनर के साथ प्रैक्टिस कर ही नहीं सकते। फिटनेस बरकरार रखने के लिए घर में ही थोड़ा-बहुत जिम कर लिया करता हूं। मेरे कोच गुरु सतपाल तो हैं दिल्ली में ही लेकिन वह मेरे घर से दूर हैं। ऐसे में जब जरूरत पड़ती है तो मैं उनको विडियो कॉल करके टिप्स ले लिया करता हूं।' डाइट नहीं किया कम रेसलिंग में डाइट का काफी महत्व होता है। हालांकि, अगर रेग्युलर डाइट के बाद पहलवान प्रैक्टिस नहीं करते हैं तो इससे वजन बढ़ने का भी खतरा रहता है। इस बारे में सुशील ने बताया, 'डाइट तो कम कर नहीं सकते क्योंकि इससे कमजोरी हो जाएगी। फिर जब दोबारा प्रैक्टिस शुरू करेंगे तो इसे फिर से हासिल करने में काफी समय लग जाएगा।' तोक्यो टलने से फायदा सुशील अभी ओलिंपिक्स के लिए क्वॉलिफाई नहीं कर सके हैं। उनके भार वर्ग 74 किग्रा में अभी ओलिंपिक्स क्वॉलिफाइंग इवेंट होने हैं। सुशील से जब पूछा कि ओलिंपिक्स को एक साल तक टालने से उन्हें कितना फायदा होगा तो उन्होंने कहा, 'यह केवल मेरे लिए नहीं बल्कि कई ऐथलीट्स के लिए फायदेमंद रहेगा। कई खेलों में ओलिंपिक्स क्वॉलिफाइंग इवेंट अभी होने हैं। ऐसे में उन खिलाड़ियों को मौका मिल जाएगा जिन्हें अब तक लग रहा था कि कहीं उन्हें ओलिंपिक्स से वंचित ना होना पड़ पाए। जहां तक मेरी बात है तो मेरी चोट में काफी सुधार है और इससे मुझे भी पूरी तरह फिट होकर देश के लिए एक और मेडल जीतने का मौका मिल जाएगा।'

चुनौतियां बेशुमार- IPL रद्द होने के आसार बढ़े

नई दिल्ली के रद्द होने के आसार दिखने लगे हैं। कोरोना वायरस के फैलाव को देखते हुए इसको 15 अप्रैल तक के लिए टाल दिया गया था। भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड ने जब इसे स्थगित करने का ऐलान किया था तब तक देश में लॉकडाउन नहीं हुआ था। हालात को देखते हुए 14 अप्रैल तक पूरा भारत लॉकडाउन में हैं। ऐसे में आईपीएल को इस महीने के दूसरे हाफ से कराने की उम्मीदें धूमिल होने लगी हैं। केंद्र सरकार ने पहले ही 15 अप्रैल तक वीजा संबंधित रोक लगाया हुआ है। इसके बाद स्थिति को देखते हुए समीक्षा की जाएगी कि विदेशियों को भारत आने की अनुमति दी जाए या नहीं। मगर बात इतनी भर नहीं है। जिन देशों से आईपीएल खेलने के लिए काफी तादाद में खिलाड़ी भारत आते हैं उनमें ऑस्ट्रेलिया और इंग्लैंड शामिल हैं। इन दोनों देशों में भी कोरोना का प्रकोप बढ़ता जा रहा है और इनके यहां भी खेल गतिविधियां पूरी तरह ठप है। ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने भी अपनी सीमाएं सील कर रखी हैं। बीसीसीआई के सामने चुनौतियां सिर्फ विदेशी खिलाड़ियों को लेकर नहीं हैं। मौजूदा हालात कितने दिनों तक रहेंगे और कब तक सब कुछ सामान्य होगा इसका अनुमान किसी को नहीं है। ऐसे में सूत्रों की मानें तो बोर्ड के शीर्ष अधिकारी इस बात को लेकर चर्चा करने लगे हैं कि क्या आईपीएल-13 को रद्द कर दिया जाए। चुनौतियां बड़ी अलग होंगी दुनिया के सबसे धनी क्रिकेट बोर्ड के सामने बड़ी से बड़ी चुनौतियां और संकट आए हैं। वह अपने धन बल के चलते तमाम बाधाएं पार करता रहा है। यहां तक कि देश में आईपीएल नहीं कराने की स्थितियां बनीं तो विदेश तक में उसे सफलतापूर्वक करा दिया। मगर मौजूदा हालात बिल्कुल अलग हैं। बोर्ड के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि इस बार की चुनौतियां बहुत बड़ी और बिल्कुल जुदा हैं। चीजें हमारे कंट्रोल में बिल्कुल नहीं हैं। फिलहाल यह कहना मुश्किल है कि देश और दुनिया में हालात 15 अप्रैल के बाद नॉर्मल हो जाएंगे। कल्पना करें कि अगले 15-20 दिन में स्थितियां अनुकूल भी होती हैं तो ट्रेवल, होटेल, मैदान, स्टाफ सबकी समस्या होने वाली है। फिर खिलाड़ियों की अपनी भी चिंता होगी। दर्शक मैदान पर पहुंचेंगे या नहीं यह कहना मुश्किल है। और अगर इस बार अगर मिनी आईपीएल हो भी जाए तो इस पर आने वाले खर्चों को वहन करने के लिए फ्रेंचाइजियां राजी होंगी या नहीं यह भी नहीं कहा जा सकता। यह भी बड़ा सवाल है कि क्या अलग-अलग राज्य सरकारें इस टूर्नामेंट को अपने यहां कराने की अनुमति देंगी या नहीं। ...तब वेतन नहीं मिलेगा कोई खेल नहीं तो कोई वेतन नहीं। इस साल आईपीएल में करार करने वाले खिलाड़ियों के साथ भी ऐसा हो सकता है। आईपीलए फ्रेंचाइजी के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने पीटीआई से कहा,‘आईपीएल भुगतान का तरीका ऐसा है कि टूर्नामेंट शुरू होने से एक हफ्ते पहले 15 प्रतिशत राशि दे दी जाती है। टूर्नामेंट के दौरान 65 प्रतिशत दी जाती है। बची हुई 20 प्रतिशित टूर्नामेंट खत्म होने के बाद निर्धारित समय के अंदर दी जाती है। बीसीसीआई के विशेष दिशानिर्देश हैं। निश्चित रूप से किसी भी खिलाड़ी को अभी कुछ नहीं दिया गया है।’ भारतीय क्रिकेटर्स संघ के अध्यक्ष अशोक मल्होत्रा ने स्वीकार किया कि आईपीएल के एक सीजन के नहीं होने का आर्थिक प्रभाव काफी बड़ा होगा। उन्हें लगता है कि कोविड-2019 महामारी से निपटने के लिए चल रहे लॉकडाउन के चलते अगर नुकसान हजारों करोड़ों में होता है तो घरेलू खिलाड़ियों तक को भी कटौती सहनी पड़ेगी। एक अन्य फ्रेंचाइजी के अधिकारी ने स्पष्ट किया कि महामारी के लिए खिलाड़ियों के वेतन का बीमा नहीं किया जाता। उन्होंने पूछा,‘हमें बीमा कंपनी से कोई राशि नहीं मिलेगी क्योंकि महामारी बीमा की शर्तों में शामिल नहीं है। प्रत्येक फ्रेंचाइजी की वेतन देने की राशि 75 से 85 करोड़ रुपये है। अगर खेल ही नहीं होता तो हम भुगतान कैसे कर सकते हैं।’ कटौती पर अभी चर्चा नहीं बीसीसीआई के कोषाध्यक्ष अरूण धूमल ने हालांकि कहा कि इस समय अभी तक कटौती के बारे में कोई चर्चा नहीं हुई है। उन्होंने पीटीआई से कहा,‘कटौती को लेकर कोई भी चर्चा नहीं हुई है। आईपीएल निश्चित रूप से बीसीसीआई का सबसे बड़ा टूर्नामेंट है। लेकिन इस समय गणना करना और नुकसान का अंदाजा लगाना काफी मुश्किल है। हम कुछ नहीं कह सकते, जब तक अधिकारी एक साथ नहीं बैठते क्योंकि गणना काफी पेचीदा है।’ हालांकि पूर्व भारतीय टेस्ट खिलाड़ी मल्होत्रा को लगता है कि परिस्थितियों को देखकर व्यावहारिक होना चाहिए। घरेलू खिलाड़ी के लिए यह कटौती नहीं होगी लेकिन हो सकता है कि उसकी बढ़ाई जाने वाली राशि को कुछ समय के लिए रोका जा सकता है। नया विंडो भी मिलना मुश्किल फिलहाल संकेत हैं कि बीसीसीआई इस साल में एक नया विंडो तलाश रहा है ताकि आईपीएल अप्रैल-मई में नहीं होने की स्थिति में कराया जा सके। हालांकि, यह भी मिलता दिखाई नहीं दे रहा है। अगर मई के बाद दुनिया भर में हालात सामान्य की तरफ बढ़ने लगे तो फिर क्रिकेट के कई द्विपक्षीय या सीरीज के कार्यक्रम तय हैं। इस साल एक ही सूरत में आईपीएल को नया विंडो मिल सकता है जबकि अक्टूबर-नवंबर में ऑस्ट्रेलिया में होने वाला टी20 वर्ल्ड कप रद्द हो जाए। हालांकि, अगर दुनिया तब तक कोरोना के संकट से उबर जाती है तो फिर ऑस्ट्रेलिया एक बड़े टूर्नामेंट की मेजबानी क्यों गंवाना चाहेगा।

नई दिल्लीकोरोना महामारी के कारण (आईपीएल) के 15 अप्रैल तक टलने से टूर्नमेंट में पहली बार खेलने के लिए तैयार युवा खिलाड़ी निराश हैं लेकिन धैर्य और अभ्यास के साथ वे खुद को प्रेरित कर रहे हैं। बंगाल के युवा ऑलराउंडर शाहबाज अहमद ने विराट कोहली और एबी डिविलियर्स से पूछने के लिए सवालों की लिस्ट तक तैयार कर रखी है। लेकिन देश में जिस तरह से कोरोना वायरस के इनफेक्शन के मामले बढ़ रहे हैं, रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर के इस खिलाड़ी का इंतजार और लंबा हो सकता है। भारतीय अंडर-19 टीम के सितारे यशस्वी जायसवाल और कार्तिक त्यागी की भी यही स्थिति है जिन्होंने टूर्नामेंट से पहले काफी सुर्खियां बटोरीं। अब उन्हें कम से कम 15 अप्रैल तक का इंतजार करना होगा। तमिलनाडु के स्पिनर वरुण चक्रवर्ती भी इससे अछूते नहीं है। हालांकि इन खिलाड़ियों का इंतजार लंबा होता जा रहा लेकिन इनका मानना है कि यह समय भी गुजर जाएगा। शाहबाज का सपनाइस साल रणजी ट्रोफी में दमदार प्रदर्शन करने वाले शाहबाज ने कहा,‘खिलाड़ियों की बोली में जब आरसीबी ने मुझे चुना तो मेरे लिए वह सपना सच होने जैसा था कि मैं भारतीय कप्तान और एबी डिविलियर्स जैसे दिग्गजों के साथ ड्रेसिंग रूम साझा करूंगा।' उन्होंने कहा,‘मुझे नेट्स पर उन्हें गेंदबाजी करने का मौका मिलता और मैं उनसे सलाह लेता। लेकिन हम सब जानते हैं कि स्थिति कैसी है। हमें संकट के खत्म होने का इंतजार करना है। हरियाणा के मेवात में रहने वाले 25 साल के इस खिलाड़ी ने कहा कि, ‘मैं खुद को फिट रखने के लिए घर में ही शारीरिक अभ्यास कर रहा हूं।’ कार्तिक की मेहनत अपनी गति से सब को प्रभावित करने वाले यूपी के तेज गेंदबाज त्यागी के लिए अच्छी बात यह है कि हापुड़ के उनके घर में प्रशिक्षिण करने के लिए पर्याप्त जगह है क्योंकि उनके पिता ने घर में ही पिच तैयार की है और नेट लगाया है। इस युवा खिलाड़ी ने कहा,‘18 साल की उम्र में मैं वैसी बातों को नहीं सोच सकता जिस पर किसी का कंट्रोल नहीं है। मेरा काम प्रैक्टिस करना और तैयार रहना है। मैं हर दिन दो घंटे और सुबह दो घंटे शाम में ट्रेनिंग करता हूं।’उन्होंने कहा,‘हां, मेरे घर के पीछे के हिस्से में पिच है। इसलिए मैं एक विकेट लगाकर बोलिंग प्रैक्टिस करने में सक्षम हूं। इसके साथ थोड़ा शारीरिक प्रशिक्षण भी कर रहा जो हमारे हमें हमारे ट्रेनर आनंद दाते ने दिया है।’ आशावादी यशस्वीत्यागी के अंडर-19 टीम के साथी और साउथ अफ्रीका में हुए वर्ल्ड कप के स्टार खिलाड़ी जायसवाल ने कहा कि वह अपने पहले आईपीएल को लेकर काफी रोमांचित थे लेकिन वास्तविकता यहीं है कि अभी इंसानी जिंदगी को बचाना ज्यादा जरूरी है। उन्होंने कहा,‘मैं राजस्थान रॉयल्स के साथ अपने पहले आईपीएल के लिए काफी उत्साहित था। मैं अपने कोच ज्वाला सर और टीम शिविरों में भी अपनी तैयारी कर रहा था। लेकिन हम इंसानों की तरह आशावादी रहना चाहिए।’ उन्होंने कहा, 'हमारी पहली प्राथमिकता यह होनी चाहिए कि हम खुद को स्वस्थ और सुरक्षित रखें और उन सभी के लिए प्रार्थना करें जो वायरस से पीड़ित हैं।’ घरेलू क्रिकेट में तमिलनाडु की टीम में जगह बनाने के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे चक्रवर्ती के लिए खुद को साबित करने का आईपीएल सही मंच है। कोलकाता नाइट राइडर्स के से चार करोड़ रुपये की बोली हासिल करने वाले इस खिलाड़ी ने कहा कि उम्मीद है, हम सभी जल्दी इस वायरस को हराएंगे।

नई दिल्ली दोनों हाथ ऊपर उठाए वीरेंदर सहवाग की इस तस्वीर को देखिए। यूं तो टेस्ट क्रिकेट में सहवाग की यह तस्वीर आपने कुछ 23 बार देखी होगी। जब वह हेलमेट उतारकर दोनों हाथ उठा लेते हैं। लेकिन इस तस्वीर की बात अलग है। और साथ ही अलग है इसके पीछे की कहानी भी। तो आखिर वह क्या बात है जो इस लम्हे को बाकी से जुदा करती है। आज ही का दिन था। और साल था 2004। भारतीय टीम पाकिस्तान के दौरे पर थी। जी, पाकिस्तान की धरती पर भारत का इतिहास दौरा। मुल्तान का मैदान था। टेस्ट मैच के पहले दिन भारत का स्कोर दो विकेट पर 356 रन था। वीरेंदर सहवाग 228 रन बनाकर नाबाद लौटे थे। उनके जेहन में अगले दिन का खाका खिंचने लगा। सहवाग को लगने लगा था कि अगर वह क्रीज पर कुछ देर टिक गए तो वह इतिहास रच सकते हैं। और उन्होंने ऐसा किया भी। वह भारत की ओर से अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में तिहरा शतक लगाने वाले पहले बल्लेबाज बने। और इसके साथ ही उनके साथ एक टाइटल हमेशा के लिए जुड़ गया। मुलतान का सुलतान। जब-जब सहवाग का जिक्र आएगा इस नाम और इस पारी को जरूर याद किया जाएगा। नजफगढ़, दिल्ली का वह इलाका जहां के वह रहने वाले थे, के नवाब तो वह पहले से थे ही। यह एक ऐसा मुकाम था जो उनसे पहले कोई भारतीय हासिल नहीं कर पाया था। वह जब 294 पर थे तो गेंदबाजी करने सकलैन मुश्ताक आए। वही सकलैन मुश्ताक जिन्हें 'दूसरा' ईजाद करने वाला कहा जाता है। क्रिकेट के जानकार जानते हैं कि दूसरा वह गेंद होती है जो सामान्य ऑफ स्पिन की तरह दाएं हाथ के बल्लेबाज के लिए टप्पा खाकर अंदर आने के बजाय बाहर निकल जाती है। बल्लेबाज इस फिरकी को समझ नहीं पाता और अकसर उसके झांसे में आ जाता। तो जब सकलैन गेंदबाजी करने आए तो सहवाग ने आगे निकलकर गेंद को ऑन साइड बाउंड्री के ऊपर से सीमा-रेखा के बाहर भेजा। कौन सा बल्लेबाज होगा जो 294 के स्कोर पर दुनिया के सर्वश्रेष्ठ ऑफ स्पिनर्स में शुमार गेंदबाज पर यह रिस्क लेना चाहेगा। पर सहवाग तो सहवाग ठहरे। वह कब कहां किसी की सुनते हैं। उन्होंने गेंद को लॉन्ग ऑन बाउंड्री के पार भेजा। उन्होंने 364 गेंद पर 38 चौकों और छठे छक्के के साथ यह मुकाम हासिल किया। बाद में उन्होंने एक इंटरव्यू में बताया भी था, 'मैंने पाजी (सचिन तेंडुलकर) से कहा भी था कि अगर सकलैन आया तो मैं छक्का मारूंगा।' हालांकि सचिन ने उन्हें सलाह दी थी कि वह इतिहास बनाने के करीब हैं इसलिए ऐसे रिस्क से बचना चाहिए। लेकिन जो रिस्क न ले वह वीरेंदर सहवाग ही कैसा। उन्होंने अपने पूरे करियर में अपने ही अंदाज में क्रिकेट खेला। उन्होंने इस मैच में शतक भी छक्के के साथ ही पूरा किया था। सहवाग सुनील गावसकर के 236, सचिन तेंडुलकर के 241 और वीवीएस लक्ष्मण के 281 के पार गए थे। वह हालांकि मैथ्यू हेडन का तब का टेस्ट क्रिकेट का सर्वोच्च स्कोर 380 नहीं तोड़ पाए। वह मोहम्मद शमी की गेंद पर 309 रन बनाकर आउट हुए। अपनी पारी में उन्होंने 539 मिनट क्रीज पर बिताए। 39 चौके और छह छक्के लगाए। भारत ने अपनी पारी 5 विकेट पर 675 रन पर घोषित की। हालांकि इस डिक्लेयरेशन को अब भी याद किया जाता है। इस मैच में कप्तानी कर रहे राहुल द्रविड़ ने जब पारी घोषित की तो सचिन तेंडुलकर 194 रनों पर बल्लेबाजी कर रहे थे। वह अपने दोहरे शतक से सिर्फ 6 रन दूर थे। खैर, भारत ने यह टेस्ट मैच पारी और 52 रन से जीतकर सीरीज में 1-0 से बढ़त बनाई थी। सहवाग ने इसके बाद 2008 में एक और तिहरा शतक लगाया। साउथ अफ्रीका के खिलाफ चेन्नै में। वह दुनिया में दो टेस्ट तिहरे शतक लगाने वाले तीसरे बल्लेबाज बने। उनसे पहले सर डॉन ब्रैडमैन और ब्रायन लारा ही ऐसा कर पाए थे। और अगर श्रीलंका के खिलाफ वह 293 पर आउट नहीं होते तो टेस्ट में तीन तिहरे तक लगाने वाले वह इकलौते बल्लेबाज होते। भारत की ओर से टेस्ट में तिहरा शतक लगाने वाले दूसरे बल्लेबाज करुण नायर ने इंग्लैंड के खिलाफ चेन्नै टेस्ट में तिहरा शतक लगाया था।

नई दिल्ली पाकिस्तानी टीम का भारत दौरा साल 2005। तीन मैचों की सीरीज का आखिरी टेस्ट। बेंगलोर का एम चिन्नास्वामी स्टेडियम मोहाली में खेला गया पहला टेस्ट ड्रॉ रहा था और कोलकाता में खेले गए दूसरे टेस्ट को जीतकर भारत ने सीरीज में बढ़त बना रखी थी। पाकिस्तान के लिए सीरीज में बराबरी करने का यह आखिरी मौका था। पाकिस्तानी कप्तान इंजमाम उल हक ने टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी चुनी। दूसरे ही ओवर में इरफान पठान ने यासिर हमीद को आउट कर पाकिस्तान को पहला झटका दिया। अगले ओवर में बालाजी ने शाहिद अफरीदी को खाता खोलने का मौका नहीं दिया। पाकिस्तान का स्कोर दो विकेट पर सात रन हो चुका था। भारत की शुरुआत अच्छी थी। लेकिन इसके बाद युनुस खान और इंजमाम की जोड़ी जम गई। ऐसा जमी कि पूरे दिन भारतीय टीम विकेट के लिए तरसती रही। युनुस और इंजमाम उल हक ने तीसरे विकेट के लिए 224 रन जोड़े। इंजमाम 184 और युनुस 127 रन बनाकर नााबद लौटे। दूसरे दिन इंजमाम अपने स्कोर में इजाफा किए बिना आउट हो गए लेकिन युनुस खेलते रहे। और आखिर में 267 रन बनाकर हरभजन सिंह का शिकार बने। युनुस आउट होने वाले 9वें बल्लेबाज थे। उन्हें मोहम्मद युसुफ 37 और कामरन अकमल (28) का साथ मिला। पाकिस्तान ने पहली पारी में 570 का बड़ा स्कोर बनाया। भारत को वीरेंदर सहवाग और गौतम गंभीर ने 98 रनों की मजबूत शुरुआत दी। इसके बाद सहवाग और द्रविड़ ने दूसरे विकेट के लिए भी 74 रन जोड़े। सचिन जब 41 रन बनाकर आउट हुए तो भारत का स्कोर तीन विकेट पर 257 रन था और वह काफी मजबूत दिख रहा था। इसके बाद वीवीएस लक्ष्मण के साथ मिलकर सहवाग ने स्कोर को 337 तक पहुंचाया। वीरू 201 रन बनाकर दानिश कनेरिया का शिकार बने। टीम इंडिया ने यहां से लगातार विकेट खोए और पूरी टीम 449 रन पर आउट हो गई। पाकिस्तान ने अपनी दूसरी पारी में तेज बल्लेबाजी की। अफरीदी ने 34 गेंद पर 58 रन बनाए। वहीं हमीद ने भी 76 रनों की पारी खेली। पहली पारी में दोहरा शतक लगाने वाले युनुस ने यहां भी दम दिखाया और 98 गेंद पर 84 रन बनाकर नाबाद रहे। इंजमाम ने 32 पर 31 रन बनाए। पाकिस्तान ने 50 ओवर में दो विकेट पर 261 रन पर पारी घोषित कर दी। भारत के सामने चौथी पारी में 383 रनों का लक्ष्य था। लेकिन गौतम गंभीर (52) के अलावा कोई दूसरा बल्लेबाज ज्यादा देर टिक नहीं पाया। पाकिस्तान की ओर से स्पिनर्स- दानिश कनेरिया, अफरीदी और अरशद खान ने टीम इंडिया को खुलकर खेलने नहीं दिया। टीम 214 रन पर आउट हो गई और पाकिस्तान ने 168 रन से मैच जीत लिया। युनुस को मैन ऑफ द मैच चुना गया और सहवाग मैन ऑफ द सीरीज रहे।

नई दिल्ली क्रिकेट के इतिहास में आज के दिन वह हुआ जो पहले कभी नहीं हुआ था। एक टीम उस स्कोर पर ऑल आउट हुई जिसकी कल्पना नहीं की जा सकती। क्या आप यह सोच सकते हैं कि कोई टीम सिर्फ 26 के स्कोर पर पविलियन लौट सकती है। जी, पूरी टीम सिर्फ इसी स्कोर पर निपट जाए। तो, आज के इतिहास में क्रिकेट की यह घटना के बारे में जानना आपके लिए रोचक होगा। ऑकलैंड का मैदान था। 25 मार्च 1955 को शुरू हुए टेस्ट मैच का तीसरा दिन। इंग्लैंड के कप्तान और दिग्गज बल्लेबाज लेन हटन का यह आखिरी टेस्ट मैच था। न्यूजीलैंड ने अपनी पहली पारी में 200 रन बनाए। जॉन रीड 73 रन बनाए और सलामी बल्लेबाज बेट सटक्लिफ ने 49 रनों की पारी खेली। इंग्लैंड की ओर से ब्रायन स्टेथम ने चार विकेट लिए। इग्लैंड ने अपनी पहली पारी में 246 रन बनाए। कप्तान हेटन नें संभलकर बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 143 गेंद पर 53 रन की पारी खेली। वहीं पीटर मे ने 48 रन बनाए। अब आई न्यूजीलैंड की दूसरी पारी। वही पारी जो इतिहास बन गई। न्यूजीलैंड की टीम इंग्लैंड से 46 रन पीछे थी। और टीम को छह के स्कोर पर गॉरडन लोगार्ट के रूप में पहला झटका लगा। तेज गेंदबाज फ्रेंक टायसन ने उन्हें हटन के हाथों कैच आउट करवाया। इसके बाद विकेट गिरने का जो सिलसिला शुरू हुआ वह थमा नहीं। न्यूजीलैंड लगातार विकेट खोता रहा। उसके चार बल्लेबाज खाता नहीं खोल पाए। और सलामी बल्लेबाज ब्रेट सटक्लिफ के अलावा किसी ने दहाई का आंकड़ा भी नहीं छुआ। सटक्लिफ ने 11 रन बनाए। कुल मिलाकर पूरी टीम सिर्फ 27 ओवर ही टिक पाई। दाएं हाथ के तेज गेंदबाज बॉब एप्लीयार्ड ने छह ओवर में सात रन देकर न्यूजीलैंड के चार बल्लेबाजों को पविलियन की राह दिखाई। वहीं पहले पारी मे चार विकेट लेने वाले स्ताथम ने दूसरी पारी में भी तीन विकेट लिए। टायसन के साथ दो और बाएं हाथ के स्पिनर जॉनी वॉर्डली ने एक विकेट लिया। इंग्लैंड ने मुकाबला पारी और 20 रन से जीता। और इसके साथ ही दो टेस्ट मैचों की सीरीज भी 2-0 से अपने नाम की।
